Exciting news for me and all the audiobook listeners. I now have three books available in AI narrated audiobook on Google Play!

That’s right. My paranormal mystery novella, Hidden Secrets, my time-travel adventure, The Rock Star & The Outlaw, and Delilah: Book 1 of the Women in the West Adventure Series are all available now, in AI Audiobook on Google Play.

I had a hunch that some of you have a preference for audiobooks, and have been waiting for these stories to come out in audio to make a purchase. If that’s you, then pay special attention to this next part.

I do enjoy audiobooks, but I’m not sure about AI audio. I will have to see if I can find some samples of books done this way to listen to. Congratulations to you, Kaye.

    • Carla, if you click on the links I provided, there’s a sample button on each book’s page, so you can see what you think. I chose different voices for different stories. I’m still testing things out.

I will say though, that I think the AI is better than the narrator on the audio book I am currently trying to get through. I won’t be posting a review on it, because I can’t say anything nice about it, but that was what came to mind. “My AI audio is better than this.” It’s all improving at a rather fast pace, so if you find it lacking now, you might check back next week. Lol. 🙂

    • Hi, Carla and all.

The majority of books I read are done via human narrator.

However, I’ve listened to a few AI recordings which were passable and a very few which were enjoyable.

There is more than one AI voice and reader so please be careful when deciding Patty L. Fletcher

        • Good morning.

          You’re welcome, Carla.

I must say, since I listen to similar synthetic voices all day while on my computer, phone, Etc. I must really want to read a book which is done in AI voice before I’m going to spend the evening reading it in that fashion.

A lot of people feel the same way.

It is also that way when deciding about an audio described movie or show, I don’t want an AI talking at me while I’m binging on Jack Ryan. 😊

        • Thank you for your input on this, Patty. ☺️ I can see why. As I’ve said, I’m currently listening to a poorly done human narration that makes me grit my teeth, so I can see your POV. AI is a bigger part of life for someone who is sight impaired than for visual people, of course.

        • Oh, where it comes to audio recorded books I’m always going to have an opinion.

I’m most likely always going to pick human over AI however, as this tech improves, I might be able to change my mind.

That all having been said, I think recorded books and AI are bound to come together and work.
